Casa de Velázquez, Académie de France à Madrid, is organising its annual event Itinerancia, showcasing works developed by the year’s artists in residence.

Opened in 1928 on land donated by the Spanish state to France, located in what would later be the campus of the Complutense University of Madrid, Casa de Velázquez is a public institution that has since hosted several generations of artists and researchers.
A public, scientific, cultural and professional facility, it's mission is to develop creative activities and research related to the art, languages, literature and societies of the Iberian countries, Latin American and Maghreb, as well as to contribute to the training of artists, researchers and professors, and to participate in the development of artistic and scientific exchange between France and the countries involved.
With this purpose, the centre selects artists to host in-residence every year, representing all artistic disciplines, while also providing short-term fellowships for both artists and researchers, doctoral and postdoctoral.
Casa de Velázquez is currently accommodating thirteen residents, selected in Paris, and two Spanish granted artists. These artists are engaged in architecture, art, photography, film, video art and musical composition and are chosen based on an art project closely associated with the art activities of the institution.
This year’s Itinerancia TRES is exhibiting artworks by the following artists:
Anne–Laure Boyer, Anne–Lise Broyer, Albert Corbí, Julien Dubuisson, Étienne Fouchet, Boris Labbé, Olivier Larivière, Marie Maurel de Maillé, Benoît Piéron, Gema Rupérez, Daniel Touati and Nima Zaare Nahand.
Dates:
May 18th – June 3rd 2012.
