Art Motile is a platform based in Barcelona which conducts research and provides information on Spanish artist in residence programmes and other issues related to artist mobility.

We are an independent, non-commercial organisation, and we offer the following services:

 

AIR Database


Art Motile’s online AIR Database provides searchable, up-to-date information on Spanish AIR programmes currently in operation.

 

Research


Art Motile conducts research on artist in residence programmes to contribute new perspectives and content to the international AIR programme phenomenon.

 

Projects


Art Motile develops projects in fields related to artist mobility and art production in collaboration with residencies and other national and international organisations. The objective is to actively contribute to the generation of new relationships and content in these fields.

 

Workshops and Presentations


Art Motile gives presentations and workshops locally and internationally on AIR programmes and mobility, aimed at creators, residency directors and other cultural workers.

Art Motile was an initiative by Marta Gracia, Toni Subirà y Anna Urdániz.

Art Motile is a project in residence at Nau Ivanow.

Nau Ivanow is a thriving cultural centre in Barcelona, a space for the creation, production and dissemination of contemporary art. Housed in a former paint factory, it features several dedicated spaces which play host to numerous types of events, such as exhibitions, theatrical performances, cinema and video art screenings, concerts, seminars and much more. Nau Ivanow is also a meeting place for various representatives of Barcelona's artistic groups, and houses several projects-in-residence.

Trans Artists logo

 

Trans Artists is a knowledge centre for artist-in-residence opportunities, operating mainly from the artists' perspective while cooperating with a wide range of partners around the world, with an increasing focus on European countries.

Art Motile collaborates with Trans Artists by sharing and exchanging information on Spanish AIR programmes, and by organising workshops aimed at making information more accessible to artists and other cultural operators.

In 2012, Trans Artists collaborated with Art Motile in the EU-funded Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs programme.
